Saint Mark’s in the Community

The Saint Mark’s Episcopal School was founded the simple but powerful idea: "Each Child, Each Day." We maintain true to our core values of a strong Christian foundation, enriched academic excellence, a diverse community, and a commitment to family. Saint Mark’s is a place where education, innovation, and community intersect.

What started as a preschool has grown into a toddler to  eighth-grade program with more than 500 students and nearly 100 faculty and staff. It is a thriving learning community that is financially stable and growing. Its campus is being modernized, and a new state-of-the-art Center for Science will open in 2024.

We are committed to making this special experience accessible to under resourced children and families in our community. Want to start a conversation about how you can help make that happen? Contact Glenn Kaufhold, Executive Director of the Foundation or Spencer Taintor, Head of School.

You Can Change a Life

Education is important for myriad reasons. It provides stability, because it’s not something that can be taken away. It can lead to financial security and independence, to self-confidence and personal growth. And learning in a diverse community can bring a life-long appreciation for ideas and cultures beyond our own. Giving the gift of education is one of the most important things you can do for children and families.

You Can Change Your Own Life

Maya Angelou said, “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.”

People need to give. If we don’t give something, somewhere, to someone, we die spiritually. Giving is about contact with something outside of ourselves. It blesses the giver. When we give, we become deeply and immediately involved in a life beyond our own. It confirms our deepest and truest feelings, because our behavior is guided by our arts.
